Orient Watch Company is the largest manufacturer of mechanical watches in Japan. Founded in 1950 the company became a member of the Seiko group in 2001. Their main line of watches are mechanical, both self and hand winding, but they do produce quarts and solar and radio-controlled watches. They also produce mechanical parts and some electronic components for other Seiko subsidiaries. The Classic Automatic maintains the 100 year old simplicity of wrist watches but includes the most modern materials and engineering allowing for state of the art precision. This is a popular model due to the classic design that makes it a great crossover between business and formal watches.
